Ever wonder what the animals we talk about look like, or which episodes cover what animals? Find the answers you seek below! Our episode guides give a brief breakdown of each episode as well as links to the articles we discuss, our sources, and of course, pictures of the animals!

All pictures are either Public Domain or Stock photos unless otherwise noted.
Unfortunately we are not able to provide photos for every animal, especially the more obscure ones, due to not being able to obtain photos which don't violate copyright law. For any animals lacking a photo we remind you that Google is your friend.

Episode 9: Into the Atlantic

Casey tells us how he had to have surgery to have one of his organs removed, and Ali makes an announcement about launching a Patreon account, and what comes with the different tiers. Casey talks about how an article he found discusses how koalas may be reassessed as endangered due to the wildfires in Australia, while Ali shares about a heroic rat that has been working with humans to find landmines. The pair then discuss their Favorite Toothed Whale Species, or odontocetes if you’re scientifically inclined, the Orca and the Beluga. Then Casey teaches about the adorably named Animal of the Week, the Boops Boops. They wrap up the episode by playing a round of the game, Timeline.

Episode 10: Angels and Vampires

Casey kicks off this episode by informing us about the joys of observing the ocean’s weird and freaky by watching Nautilus Live, while Ali talks about people bringing animals into medical facilities and her pet peeve regarding non-service animals. Casey discusses a tragic event in Tasmania which involved the largest mass stranding of pilot whales in Australia’s history, and talks about some hypotheses on the causes of mass strandings. To fit the spooky vibe of the month, the pair talk about their Favorite Real Life ‘Vampires’, the Vampire Moth and the Vampire Finch. Then Casey educates us on the Animal of the Week, the Atlantic Angel Shark, before bringing the episode to an end by challenging Ali with a quiz to test if she paid attention to the podcast.

Episode 11: Literary Villains and Underwater Monsters

Casey talks about his return to classes, which are forced to be online due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and Ali talks about how a friend of hers just got a cat and is learning the trials and tribulations of kitties. In an odd change of pace, Casey has good news, and brings up a fascinating study looking at possible solutions to coral bleaching. Ali highlights another dog breed, the Leonberger, before the duo discusses their Favorite Animals with an Undeserved Bad Reputation, the Great White Shark, and the Gray Wolf. Casey takes us deep into the Atlantic to teach us about their intimidating Animal of the Week, the Humpback Anglerfish. They conclude the episode with a challenge where they need to come up with as many animals as possible, and in order, for every letter in ‘The Animal Addicts Podcast’.

Episode 12: Return of the Devils

Casey continues with the creepy crawly theme for this month, and discusses his time spent insect collecting for his entomology class, before talking about how moths are being used to distribute sensors to collect data in hard to reach areas. Ali talks about the problems facing the Tasmanian Devil, and what is being done to help out these fascinating marsupials. They then go on to discuss their Favorite Mammals from Greenland, the Musk Ox and the Arctic Fox, before Casey teaches us about yet another creepy Animal of the Week, the Giant Isopod. They wrap up the episode with another round of their challenge where they must name animals that begin with the last letter of the previous animal’s name.

Episode 13: Halloween, or should we say, Howl-oween!

Casey talks about experiencing his existential crisis being a senior at his university and facing the reality of becoming a real adult, and informs us about what is being done to help save the world’s rarest primate species, the Hainan Gibbon. Ali shares her experience with donating to the Humane Society during COVID before they both discuss previous animal related Halloween costumes. To bring an end to the spooky vibe of this month, Ali and Casey talk about animals they find fascinating but give them the heebie-jeebies (aka their Stuff of Nightmares), the Amazonian Giant Centipede and Banded Sea Krait. Casey brings us back towards the surface of the Atlantic to discuss the enormous Animal of the Week to conclude this month, the Leatherback Sea Turtle. They bring the episode to a close with a challenge where they need to name as many animals with colors in their names as possible in the allotted time.
